Its Another Year

Posted by daddy leon On July - 26 - 2009

This week, my household celebrated 2 birthdays.  I’m 31 and kaizer is 56.  And Nathaniel is there to celebrate with us. Here’s to another year of love, peace joy and premier league action (no more champions league though)!

Nathaniel serving Kaizer his birthday treat. This time he could hold the tub for our silly dog, unlike the previous year.

Papa:  Nathaniel, go stand next to Kaizer.  Papa wants to take a photo of the both of you.

Toddler Appetite Slump Syndrome

Posted by daddy leon On July - 18 - 2009

That was that the paed called it.

When Nathaniel decided to be picky with his food, we decided that we would stay cool about it.  All of a sudden, he has decided not to eat his meals which mummy, grandma and helper so painstakingly prepared.  We could not isolate the reason for his sudden fussiness as we tried all ways to whet his diminished appetite.  Sweetened, Salted, Seasoned, Fusion, we tried it all.  But he just wasn’t interested.

He had some food that he would most definitely eat, and he was surviving on those for about a month.  White rice, strawberries, apples, bananas and eggs.

We weren’t so cool anymore after awhile.

Last week, we brought him to the paed.  Doctor gave him a clean bill of health albeit noticing that he has not gain any weight since the last time we visited her (2 months ago).  So we were sent home with a bottle of multi-vitamins/appetizer.  We also decided to add PediaSure to his daily diet to ensure he has enough nutrition.  We also increased his dosage of pro-biotics.

Thank God, out of the battery of methods used, something worked.  His appetite is back!  I never thought I would punch the air in delight when I received an SMS in office that my son was eating well, but I did.

Some photos to share.

Father’s Day

Posted by daddy leon On July - 12 - 2009

Father’s day was a month back.  My wife had sweetly planned for a photoshoot for me and Nathaniel and Ron had so kindly obliged.  Her reason was that daddy was behind the camera so much that I do not have much photos taken with my son.  I never thought I would enjoy it as much as I did. It was not that I enjoyed seeing myself in photos, but I really did enjoy seeing myself and Nathaniel connect in those photos.  There is so much chemistry. :D

Thanks wifey and ron, for making this happen.

You will never walk alone!

On top of the world!

I love the last shot the most.

I was sitting on the grass, when he tapped me on the shoulder with his little hand.  I looked at him and said “Yes darling?”.  He smiled and me and though he could not mouth his thoughts, I bet he was trying to say “papa, the grass is quite prickly!”

Haha, seriously, I think this photo catches us in a timeless moment.  It doesn’t matter if he is 20 months old, 20 years old or 40 years old, it is my prayer that we will always share a relationship where he can always come up to me, tap me on the shoulder and tell me just about anything under the sun..
