What’s next?

After introducing salmon to Nathaniel, we decided to strike it off his menu.  He eats them all the same but its obvious he doesn’t quite enjoy it. So its back to the supermarket and this time Nathaniel gets to choose! (well…not really)

Photos of the week

A whole new week, and a new set of photos. :D

This week marks the beginning of a life of teeth brushing for baby Nathaniel.  I know we should have started earlier..

We love spending time rolling around bed with Nathaniel before his bedtime.  After a hard day’s work, nothing beats spending precious time with him before he sleeps.  Bedtime is a blast for all of us!

We let Nathaniel watch television for about 30mins a day.  And he loves watching the Baby Einstein Old MacDonald DVD.  He would sit upright on his bouncer and watch the show, just casting the occasional glance to make sure we are around the corner.  The funny thing is, he always gets restless just about the time the show is coming to and end, as if he knows that the show is finishing!

This is also the first time we let Nathaniel feed himself.  And we soon realised he did not need the spoon!  We enjoyed it as much as he did. :D (the green stuff is spinach and sweet potato puree)

“Oh no! Look at the mess I made!”

Happy Eater

It has been one month since we introduced solids in an attempt to wean him.  We started with pureed apples, bananas, carrots, potatoes and baby cereal.  We then ventured into sweet potatoes, butternut squash, broccoli, cauliflower and peaches. This week we will start him on the good stuff! MEAT! Chicken with carrots puree to be precise.  We are also introducing a spinach and sweet potato puree for him.

Besides the initial worry of how the boy will take to eating solids when we first introduced them, we never really had to worry about it anymore because this boy has been happily chomping down everything we have given him thus far.  And we (more mummy and helper actually) really have had much fun preparing the food and seeing him eating it so readily.  We prepare and freeze his food for the week on Sunday, so come Sunday afternoon, mummy will be a busy busy bee in the kitchen, lovingly preparing the meals for the boy.  I must admit this is a side of mummy that I have not really seen. :D Well, even her mummy thinks so.  Well done mummy!

Nathaniel is also starting to show separation anxiety (more when separated from mummy..).  He displays and vocalises his emotions and feelings much more readily (and purposefully) now, surprising us everyday with his myriad of temperaments.

Well, its actually good news for daddy because it represents more photo opportunities! :D

Showing Affection

2 mornings ago, Nathaniel was doing his usual worming around on our bed in the morning, when he suddenly buried his face next to mine.  He got up, looked at me, smiled and buried his face next to mine again.  He then wormed over to mummy and did the same thing (except it was her breasts he buried his face in.. keke).  I guess it was his way of showing affection and that made me one very happy daddy!

Happy 7 months old darling.

Nathaniel loves water, it doesn’t matter if he is in the tub, in the ducky or being showered by grandma.

A new look

Today Nathaniel turns 7 months old and with it, a new look for his blog! In fact, I changed the hosting company as well! Hope this new site loads faster than the old one. :D
