You’ll Never Walk Alone!

The little liverbird looking unhappy, almost like he knew he was going to be pricked later.
I do not think Nathaniel enjoyed this weekend as much as the last one because he had his vaccination this weekend. Like his last injection, it took about 1 second for the pain to reach his brain and eventually manifested as a loud scream albeit a short scream. As parents, we dislike vaccinations as well. We dread the fever, crankiness that would follow. True enough, Nathaniel had a low grade fever (about 38 degrees), and was sleeping throughout the day in short spells, and waking up crying, looking obviously uncomfortable.
Thank God his fever subsided the next day and he was back to his cheery best, cooing and cackling to my dad. Its almost like he is recounting the experience to grandpa when he came to visit in the morning.

baby nathaniel: Grandpa! Daddy and mummy brought me for a jab yesterday! It was very painful!
grandpa: ok, i understand. you were a brave boy!

Back to my best!
Nathaniel hopes next weekend will be a better one!

It has been a busy weekend for the family. I must admit it is pretty exciting as parents to bring Nathaniel out, and I’m also pretty sure we probably enjoyed it much more than Nathaniel did.
We can soothe Nathaniel in most situations if he ever decides to wail, thus the confidence in bringing him out. So far, there is only one incident when Nathaniel decided to WAIL in a crowded lift… .
Friday night, we went for dinner at the guild house in Suntec with my dad and sis. We knew it would stretch over his feed, so we brought along mummy’s expresso milk which I gladly fed. After dinner, we even ventured into Carrefour, and Nathaniel laid in his stroller the whole time staring at the bright lights and looking ever so cute and curious.

4 ounces of mama’s milk!
Saturday morning, we went to the beach! We had takeaway macdonald’s breakfast as we sat in front of a surprisingly cold, refreshing morning breeze. Nathaniel was his usual cute and curious self, all his senses tickled by the new environment, mostly by the loud airplane that flies by every now and then.

Normally on sundays, we would go straight home after church for our sunday nap, but last sunday, we decided to venture into the spanking new Changi Airport Terminal 3! Haha, I guess we were really enjoying taking Nathaniel to places as we would never otherwise dream of going to a new ‘attraction’ so soon after it has opened.

I must say, It was as much a new experience for Nathaniel as it is for us.
And how did Nathaniel feel after his busy weekend? Happy I hope, I know we are.

happy baby!
Nathaniel’s sleeping pattern is changing all the time. He used to be able to nap from 730pm to about 10pm, but now, he chooses to stay awake, not fussing, just entertaining himself for about 1-2 hours or so until about 10pm (just nice, as we would have finished watching the 9pm drama, keke). Mummy would them give him a good long feed and he will dose off into lala land.
I appreciate that 1-2 hours when he is awake as I would be home from work and I can have some bonding time with him. In fact, he loves that 1-2 hours with daddy and mummy! We know because he would break into smiles often and ‘talks’ incessantly.
Till his sleep pattern changes again, we are thoroughly enjoying this evening bonding time.

whose nose bigger?
I’m sure everyone will say “so fast? 2 months old already?”, but we as parents feel like he has been with us forever. We can’t really remember days without him in fact.
He is actually 8 weeks and 5 days old already, another one and a half weeks, he would have finished his BMT.
He is definitely much more interactive now. He makes me want to rush home from work just so that I can catch his ‘good mood’ hours. He has also been drinking a lot of milk, sleeping longer hours and talking a lot. Its amazing to watch their development day by day, we are always waiting to see what new tricks he has up his sleeves. Just this morning, he tugged on a dangling toy on his swing to activate music on his own!
oh yah, as an update to the previous post.. nope, he did not repeat his 7 hours feat…haha.. but God did bless us by giving him 4 hours of sleep instead. Sure beats 2 hours. we are not complaining.

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
