Nathaniel surprised us today by agreeing to sit all by himself during his (long overdue) haircut. He looked really proud of himself, chatting and laughing while his hair was being cut like a seasoned auntie on a perm!

Magical Kingdom

Before we even know it, we are back from our short Hong Kong trip. Its unfortunate how time always seems to fly by when we are having fun.

I have never been fond of Hong Kong, but this time round, with the wife and Nat in tow, this may well be one of the best trips I ever had.

In the short 6 days, we each found our own magical kingdom in Hong Kong. For me, it was anywhere as long as the wife and kid are enjoying themselves. Nathaniel’s magical kingdom is of course Disneyland and the wife’s magical kingdom was somewhere further south in Ap Lei Chau and wherever lies an H&M outlet!

Mummy’s Andy Lau

When we put Nathaniel on the motorbike ride, mummy joked that he is her Andy Lau and even directed him to bend low and act suave to mimic Andy Lau in his famous motorbike movie sequence (short of having ketchup streaming down his forehead).

I broke into laughter, and shortly after, Nathaniel broke into laughter too.

Just some simple pleasures on a hot hot Saturday afternoon.

Well, although Nathaniel has not mastered saying “恭喜, 恭喜” yet, he has mastered saying “谢谢!” when a red packet is given!

Subject Matter Experts

Nathaniel almost always calls for “MUM!” when its bedtime and “DADDY!” when its playtime. Quite a smart lad, considering he knows to find the relevant subject matter experts!

Grandpa (which he affectionately calls “YE YE!”), could always be called upon to carry his bag (with pride too I must add!).

we have completed January. This month saw Nathaniel surprising us with many more words. ”BUS!” ”HOME!” “ONE!” “BUY THIS!” “PLEASE!” just to name a few. We speak to him as if he was a grown up boy and many a times, he would amaze us by displaying near perfect comprehension. Its really fun for us expecting the unexpected from this toddler.

Swim Sunday

Today we dug out the speedos my dad bought for Nathaniel and ventured the pool. Nathaniel was so excited he wanted to wear them even before we set off for the pool. It was quite funny seeing a little boy scampering around the house in his speedos.

So off to the pool we went, Nathaniel was quite brave I must say. He stood by himself in the wading pool, refusing assistance. He slipped and went underwater a few times, only to stand up again as if nothing happened. (well, not really..) haha. He also mustered enough courage to jump into the pool, and even climbed out of the pool himself to do it again!

We should definitely do this more regularly!
