When Nat went on the motorbike, the movie 烈火战车 came to mind.
Who can forget Andy Lau on the bike scene? And with blood streaming down his face. So iconic. Heehee.

My dad has always been the family’s courier-shopper of sorts, since he’s frequently overseas. So when he’s home-bound, there’s bound to be a flurry of emails to him (from me and babysis).
He was last in Paris in Dec and of course, we sent him a user-friendly version of our wishlist (complete with images and price range). And he really did shop for us. Nevermind, if what he bought was not in our wishlist. Hahaha.
So, our Paris loot is homebound next week. And apparently, my dad was having issues with packing my shoes, and my mum reminded him that I want the shoebox intact. Aka, the shoes got to come back with the box! Gotta love my folks for indulging my whims.
Of course, grandson nat gets special attention. He was asked what he wants and he told my dad over the phone :: “Buy Car”. And when my dad asked “what car?”, he goes “Chick!” (Which is the only name he can say, from the 3 cars).
That got my dad confused since I don’t think he’s watched Cars before (nvm, when he’s back next week, he will get to watch the movie!).
So my mum very helpfully told him this: “If you see a Green car, with eyes and number 86 on it, buy”.
Really wonder what my dad will bring home this time…

Whatever happened over the weekend, stays on facebook and twitter. Just realised all the events for the weekend were somehow facebooked. Even the family BBQ.
The weekend started on the last day of 2009, with me trying to be le chef (my once a year thingy) for our NYE dinner at yveonloft with some friends.
I went for a mishmash fusion menu :: consomme of black poultry (black chicken soup!hah), mince beef and pumpkin pasta (which my helper is getting v gd at whipping up), prawns in basil pesto (much thanks to madmoneymonkey for sharing this recipe!), grilled salmon with mustard/biscuit crust, grilled veg with truffle oil( thanks to beanbean for gifting the bottle, as a bday gift!) and beef sukiyaki (which seem to be the hot seller, cos it was wiped out the quickest!). There was dessert of lychee martini cheesecake which was fabfabfab!And of course, bubbly and beer (Sapporo, no less!).
We did our usual looking back/looking forward thingy but the chief entertainer award goes out to…Nat.
He in his sexy underpants-looking shorts (gifted by babysis), doing his jiggy.
We ushered in 2010, watching UP. When the friends left, tehpeng and I stayed up for another movie – Yes Man. As you can tell, I’m making up for lost time, need to catch up on the movies available at yveonloft!
On the first day of 2010, we threw a party for the little ones to gather, for the mummies to chat and for the daddies to take photos. It was a ‘food from the hood’ potluck and on the table we had - wanton mee (tehpeng’s fav!)! chicken rice!tau huey!ribs!har-jeong kai!seafood youtiao! We even managed a Surprise! for silver_crv.:)
We all enjoyed the cocoa-powder-covered-choc-fudge delight cake. Perhaps a little bit too much, as some of us had cocoa powder traces on us…(my chin!)
And the babies blogged about the party…
We knew it was time to end the merry-making when the tots started to get cranky on us. After an afternoon nap, we headed down for my uncle’s birthday BBQ. There was more eating!
The next day, tehpeng and I headed down to IKEA with a mission, or 2. To get a cupboard to better organise my bags which were spilling out from my 1 shelving (I do not have alot of bags, I just have very little storage space). And to pick up the preloved-still-in-mint-conditioned Tods bag from squarenails. 2nd day of the year and I’ve got a bag. The year looks set to be baggy-great. Huh huh huh.
Hope your weekend is great too. I guess it’s hard to get back to work-mode, till one steps into reality called office…

When tehmum called to say she’s bringing Nat to the movies, I’m all “erm…sure, but not sure if he will sit through the whole movie…”
As it is, we only managed to catch the first part of Cars (“Focus…Speed….”) at home most of the time, before he’s distracted by other stuff.
So I prepped him in the morning before I left for work.
Mummy :: ” Baby, ma-ma is going to bring you to the cinema. It’s like watching tv , but the screen is much bigger…”
Nat :: *nods*
This happens all the time when I’m telling him things. He nods his head as if he understands. I’m not certain he really understand but I’ll take it that he does. Huh huh.
When it was movie-time, I had this silly smile on my face while working and looking at the clock, thinking about my son being at the movies. Such a big boy already la!
I called for a “post-movie report” and tehmum was so proud of him cos he sat through the whole movie and seemed to follow the story (he clapped when the mission was completed).
I’m so proud of him…*tears* my big boy! Soon he will be going for movies with his friends! Aaaaaah!
Mummy :: Natnat, what did the mice do in the movie?
tehpeng :: Hamsters la! Nat :: *gestures ala kung fu fighting*
Well, it’s guinea pigs by the way.

This sms-thingy happened yesterday…
unknown number :: Hey Wendy!
lilsnooze :: ?? Wrong number.
unknown :: This is not Wendy?
lilsnooze :: No.
unknown :: Sorry. I got the wrong number.
I dont know why I bothered to answer when it’s obviously a wrong number… but this morning, another sms came – Hey Wendy, it’s me la!
Wah, never give up.
So wanted to reply – Dude, if she gave you the wrong number, she’s just not that into you.

We watched 21 last night. So apt for the “season”. ![]()
Chow Yun Fatt can step aside. Jim is the new-age 赌神. He’s so cool in the show.
I used to play a few games over the festive season with relatives, telling them to “donate to my Prada Fund“. But I kinda stopped as I realised I was contributing to their funds instead. Hehe.
Maybe this year, I shall 重出江湖 for my bag-fund.
