I was so engrossed in the book, standing in the train, and when I lifted my eyes…GASP! Someone wearing a black/white polka dot dress was standing in front of me. I was in a similar top!
And that is why I really prefer getting my stuff online! It’s really been a while since I’ve bought anything this easily noticeable/identifiable locally but I’ve always wanted a black/white polka dot top. Besides I like the frilly sleeves. And I’ve already waited for a few weeks before wearing this top (must wait for the shops to not have this on display!)….
Ah well. I went back to my book and continued reading.
How different to the reaction when this happened many many years ago. I freaked out and insisted on going home to change. I couldn’t for some reason. I blended into the dim lighting of the place and was feeling very self-conscious.
It was a “non-reaction” today. I only twittered, told tehpeng about it and blogged this down.

Being at a new workplace means everything in your wardrobe is “new” to your colleague. Or so says tehepng, in response to my “I-dont-have-anyhing-to-wear” moments.
Today is casual Friday and I think jeans are ok (going by what I’ve seen) but I usually leave the jeans for the weekends. I’m in capris, paired with heels. Maybe cos I-can-do-casuals-for-weekends-thank-you-very-much, so I really want to dress-up-abit-more-on-weekdays (when I don’t have to worry if my attire is nat-friendly).
I remembered my ex-CEO from some moons back (ok, 2 jobs back) who commented that “such 3-quarters (who uses this phrase nowadays!?) are meant for going to the market”.
In reply, I said that they are called capris and they are very much in fashion (still). I didn’t think he expected an answer from me…huh huh. I had to stand up for fashion (and my colleague) right?

It’s incredibly hot these few days. Sunnies are essential for a day out.
Except we didn’t actually manage to put them on when we are out in the sun. Hahaha.
And it really seemed like a good idea to ditch my jeans and walk out from MNG with the shorts instead today.
Except I had a better idea…I walked out with 2 of them shorts in a shopping bag.
Hee.

This get-up is quite the rocker dude huh.
We bought the black/white volleys from Melbourne (Target!).
Then we realised they are quite “in” now, at least for adults. Gorgor mee-pok has a similar pair!

I was never into slogan tees, but increasingly, I seem to be.
Especially when it comes to Nat’s clothes.
Nat has begun to be more talkative in babbling and I just know it will be soon he can recite ABC along with us.
A mummy can dream big and think far right!
And when he does, I wanna get him this tee!

Fashion really comes one full circle (and round again), as what pf says.
The other night (over Mich & Jon’s wedding dinner actually), we were just talking about bags we used to carry in our schooldays era – Chantel Thomas, Sonia Rykiel, ELLE and EastPak (If you knew them, we are the same era!).
Next thing I know, I realised babysis is carrying EastPak! And they are available at a store in Heeren (which means it’s cool and hip yo!).
I used to wear Keds as school shoes (They are uber comfy!) and now, they are back, in all assortment of colours & patterns.
I know all these through babysis’ fashion-buys. Yeap, she keeps me connected to the new young gen.
I saw this the other day and was really really tempted!

You will be surprised that it’s not that easy to wear matching colours as a family. We can only do 2 out of 3.
For day 1, it was tehpeng & me, in green.
Taken right after Nat 拜年 with us…red packets from daddy&mummy!
On day 2, it was daddy and son in blue/white stripes.
Thanks auntie PF for the top! (the pants was worn on day 1!)
